How to setup Autocharge

Charge by simply plugging in the cable

Autocharge allows you to start charging simply by plugging in the cable.


Once your EV is linked to your business account, the charger will automatically recognise your vehicle and begin the charging session instantly. No app or card needed.

All charges made through Autocharge are billed automatically to your business account.

How to set up Autocharge?

The setup is done via the Stella Energy app, and there are two ways to complete it.

Method 1: Enable Autocharge while your vehicle is charging

Use this method when your vehicle is currently plugged in and charging.

  1. Visit Stella charger and begin a normal charging session using the app. You will see an option to Enable Autocharge. Tap it.

  2. The app will identify your vehicle. You’ll be asked to give it a name. We recommend using the license plate number (e.g., AB12345) so you can easily identify it in your fleet list.

  3. Review the details and tap Next to confirm.

That’s it! The next time you plug this vehicle into a compatible charger, it will start charging automatically.

Method 2: Enable Autocharge from your business page

Use this method to remotely enable Autocharge for any vehicle in your fleet that has charged with Stella in the last 30 days. The vehicle does not need to be plugged in.

  1. Tap the Business icon in the main navigation menu at the bottom of the app.

  2. Tap on the Autocharge tab.

  3. You will see a list titled Vehicles ready to enable This list includes all vehicles that have used your business account recently.

  4. Tap on the vehicle you wish to enable. You will be asked to give it a name (like the license plate) and confirm the setup.

Done: Once confirmed, the vehicle will be added to your list of Autocharge enabled vehicles.

ℹ️ Note: if you don't see any vehicles ready to be enabled, then visit Stella chargers and complete a charge.

Method 3: Enable Autocharge from your charge history

If you’ve previously completed a charge on the Stella Network, you can enable Autocharge directly from your business charging history.

  1. Open the Stella app.

  2. In the bottom navigation bar, tap History.

  3. Locate a past charge for the vehicle you want to enable Autocharge for and select it.

  4. Scroll to the bottom of the charge details page and tap Activate Autocharge.

  5. Enter the vehicle’s name and tap Continue.

  6. Review the information and finalise by tapping Enable Autocharge.

Once enabled, your next charging session will start automatically as soon as you plug in the cable.

FAQ

Why can’t I see my vehicles?

For a vehicle to appear in the Vehicles ready to enable list, it must have completed at least one charging session at a Stella station using your business account within the last 30 days. Please note that not all vehicle manufacturers support Autocharge.

How to rename my vehicle?

Go to the Business page > Autocharge tab. There you will see a list of all vehicles, find the vehicle you want to change and tap it. Enter new name and tap Save.

Is possible to set up Autocharge for a private (not business) account?

No, at the moment Autocharge works only with a business account

How to remove my vehicle?

Go to the Business page > Autocharge tab. There you will see a list of all vehicles, find the vehicle you want to remove and tap it. Next, tap on Remove vehicle from Autocharge.
