How the tiered pricing system works

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Stella prices are based on how much energy you use. The more you charge, the lower your price per kilowatt-hour (kWh) becomes. It’s a simple system designed to reward frequent charging with better prices.

How Tiers Are Calculated

Each charging session, whether by you or your driver, adds to your 30-day total energy usage. This total updates in real time as soon as the session ends.

We calculate your tier based on your usage over the last 30 days. This is a rolling window. Each night at midnight, any charging done 31 days ago is removed from your total. This means your tier level can go up or down daily depending on your recent activity.

Tier Levels and Thresholds

There are three tiers. Each one is based on how many kWh you’ve charged in the past 30 days:

Denmark

Tier

30-Day Usage (kWh)

Silver

0 to 300 kWh

Gold

300 to 1000 kWh

Diamond

1000 kWh and above

Norway

Tier

30-Day Usage (kWh)

Silver

0 to 500 kWh

Gold

500 to 1500 kWh

Diamond

1500 kWh and above

The price is based on your tier level at the time of the charge.

Each tier unlocks a better price. As soon as your 30-day usage crosses into the next tier, your new price applies immediately to your next charge session.

Example

If your current 30-day total is 295 kWh and you charge 10 kWh today, your new total becomes 305 kWh. You move into the Gold tier, and your next charge will be cheaper.
